Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

After the holidays and the turn of a new year, we’re all working to shake off the holiday lazies and get back into the swing of things. Getting back into gear after a break can take some time, and since it is a new year, why not take this time to help get each other rolling using the right methods. I guess what I’m saying is this is an opportunity to start this year fresh, and let’s do it right.

Online marketing can be a finicky thing, and because most of us would consider it more of an art than a science, there is always the need to be creative. Unfortunately, this need to be creative is where the SEO-naive or ignorant can land into a heap of trouble. Doing things like keyword stuffing (using keywords in the content or code of your site over and over to the point where it becomes nonsensical) and hiding text on your site where search engines may pick up the text but will remain invisible to human visitors (like using text font as the same color as the background) are big-time No-No’s when it comes to SEO.

Since it’s still very early in the year and work is not likely to be as busy now as it is a month from now, take some time and go over your site to check and make sure everything is up to snuff and remove any deceptive tactics that may be in use on the site. Doing this review now will help save you time and money down the road, and get you that one step ahead of your competition.
