Choosing A Theme For Your Site

Whether you're an aspiring 'Netrepreneur' with tons of business background or just want to see what all the craze is about, starting a website should NEVER be taken lightly...you just never know what kind of success you will have! This is why we always say to err on the side of caution and assume your site is going to achieve monumentous goals. After all, if you weren't that serious about doing great things with your site, why would you be here? Exactly.

For some of you, you already know the topic upon which your site will focus and have done some research into your market. For the rest of us (the overwhelmingly vast majority) we'll give you some tips on how to narrow down a market and focus in on a couple of hot topics you can build your site around.

If you don't have a website yet, the most important thing you can do is to make sure your site is about something you actually enjoy.

You can either jump on a trendy bandwagon, trying desperately to keep up with the latest crazes out there, spending your time developing a site on a topic you neither know or care about OR you can take a little time, think about something you're passionate about, research a niche market on that topic and end up with a website you love spending time developing and sharing with others. A good way to start narrowing down your topics of interest is to ask yourself this:

"What could I do and talk about forever and ever, and never get bored of?"

Some of you will answer 'restoring cars!' while others will respond 'spending time with my kids' while even others will say '18th century French literature'. Point is, there are millions of topics out there that people are interested in and you should NEVER EVER feel like your topic of interest is already exhausted. Remember, these are just topics of interest and there is plenty of narrowing-down to do! Although there are millions of websites on the net it is not all that often that an absolutely perfectly accurate link to a page for a searched term in a major search engine is provided.

Here's an example:

I just searched the term "white wall tires for a chevrolet corvette" in Google.
I received about 150,000 results for the search term, but there were absolutely ZERO listings in the top search results for what I searched. Instead I just got a bunch of mumbo-jumbo on people trying to sell their cars, or show them off. If I were a customer looking to buy white wall tires for my old corvette I'd just have to go somewhere else!

So when it comes down to it, the more time that goes by that your site is not on the internet, the more money you could be losing...there's still plenty of space for virtually every topic of interest on the internet!
